your words still serenade me- - L I K E A C R O W C H A S I N G T H E B U T T E R F L Y- - your alibis won't let me sleep Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy—except that Wendy was feeling more like R. Kelly. After a six hour flight in a cramped airplane, Wendy had called Adam’s parents. Now that she thought about it, calling them after getting herself to California was a bad idea. She’d never met them, and she had just assumed they’d let a strange girl they’d never met into their house. Thankfully, they had—and Wendy had hopped on a cab to their house. San Francisco was an interesting city, she had to admit. As she rode down it’s hilly streets, she regretted her choice of travel temporarily—icon street cars from passed her taxi and made her long for the kinds of scenes she had seen in the movies. The only thing keeping her from jumping out of the taxi though was the fact she was very likely to get lost otherwise.
It was a trip that, two days before, Wendy had planned on a whim. She had been sitting at home doing her homework with some random B-rated film playing in the background when Jason had taken the remote and changed it to a retro cartoon channel. Hearing the opening spider-man theme song made her smile widely and her heart putter in her chest, and she decided right then and there that, to hell with school! Her man needed her. If her parents protested, she was eighteen years old, goddammit. She could move out for all she wanted. Neither Bill and Lisa had anything to say, however, in fact, Bill had been the one responsible for booking all of her flights (as well as had told her if she wanted to stay longer he could easily reschedule). Lisa had given her money to buy new clothes for the trip—including a Victoria’s Secret gift card—and Wendy had run off to the mall to splurge on her step-mother’s dime. She even took into consideration Lisa’s sentiments and only purchased clothing, and underwear… By the time Wendy got back from the mall, she found her suitcases packed (with the exception of what she had just purchased, of course) and her Dad had the tickets. The only thing that frightened her was the idea that Lisa had packed said suitcase, she didn’t want to look inside as visions of lace and leather spotted across her eyes.
Now, a few hours later, Wendy was doing something cute. Wendy had never been a cute person, and so this just..made things weird. She was crammed in Adam’s closet, one arm bent poorly with her hand wrapped around her cell phone, and her knees folded up oddly. She had fallen asleep for a little while, afraid that she’d wake up in a deep sweat screaming, but the fact that the whole room smelled like her Trippy helped her nap easily. For the first time since February, Wendy had even made an effort to look pretty. It was one of the things she really loved about Adam, he didn’t care, in a good way. She could dress in the most disgusting pair of sweat pants and a sports bra that was a cup size too big with her hair messed up, and he would still love her. She smiled and leaned against the door, thinking about him. He loved her. She never thought she’d be able to think that without getting creeped the fuck out. The best part of all of this was that she loved him too. Life was good.
She had sent him a text message a few minutes earlier telling him to call her as soon as he got home, knowing that he would hear her phone ring loudly (she totally had gotten the Mario theme song for him), open the closet door and be surprised and happy to see her. She hoped. Either that, or he would be so sad by what was going on with his little sister that he would just break down and start crying. She really hoped that wouldn’t be the case. Regardless, she missed him, and this week would definitely prove to be the best week she’d ever spent on location with a boyfriend.

i've been lying wide awake, paralyzed by the buzzing of the television. bug hunting, was something adam always did with his little sister. gwen wasn't feeling too sick today, so with the permission of his parents, adam was able to take his baby sister to their usual bug hunting field. they weren't able to stay very long though, because gwen had lost a lot of her energy in a short amount of time. it broke adam's heart, to see his baby sister seem so more fragile that she ever was before. he decided that this would probably be the last time he'd take her bug hunting, because he couldn't bare seeing her like this again. on gwen's request, adam had to give her a piggy back ride the rest of the way home, which wasn't too far of a walk, so it was all good. on their way home, adam felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, but since gwen was on his back, he couldn't put her down.
when they arrived home, adam took gwen quietly up to her bedroom. she had fallen asleep on his back, and he didn't want to wake her. after he got her shoes off, and had her tucked in, adam quietly left a kiss on her forehead, then silently crept into his bedroom. he looked at himself in the mirror and sighed. you should be the one with this cancer, he thought to himself. not your baby sister. he reached up and touched the necklace around his neck. with the help of their mother, gwen had made it for adam. it was a definitely a necklace for a girl, but adam didn't care. his little baby sister made it for him. he smiled and decided to take it off. not only was it a necklace for girls, but it was also one of those necklaces that got the hair from the back of your head tangled up in them.
he walked over to his bed, then sat with a heavy sigh. it was then, when he finally remembered to check his cell phone. he pulled it out of his pocket and smiled when he saw who the text was from. after he read it, he dialed her number and called. not only did he hear the ringing in his own ear, but he also heard the mario theme song playing happily from his closet. he stood, and dropped his phone onto his bed, and slowly approached his closet. "i really hope that's wendy in there," he said. "or i'll just crap my pants." he grabbed the closet door handle, slowly pulled the closet open, and there was his wendy. his jaw dropped, but his lips were curled up into a smile, and his eyes were huge. that was all he could do now, was just stare at her with that dumb look on his face.

your words still serenade me- - L I K E A C R O W C H A S I N G T H E B U T T E R F L Y- - your alibis won't let me sleep Wendy felt her entire body react when she heard the bedroom door open. It took way more energy than it should have to resist the urge to open the closet door and go flying out, but she was able to hold her ground. It was a good thing she did too, because if she would have remained in position, Wendy would have tumbled to the ground whenever he decided to call her. She leaned against the back wall of the closet, flipping her phone around in her hand as she waited for the ring, watching the door. She knew where Adam had been, his parents had told her, but she was trying to not think about that. If she spent any amount of time thinking about little Gwen, there was a chance she would break down like a sniveling baby and throw herself into Adam’s arms. Why a sister, she asked herself again. When she had first heard about the little thing way back when Wendy and Trip had just first started playing video games together she remembered feeling this odd warmth in her stomach and that was one of the moments she remembered first feeling anything for Adam other than him just being some guy she played video games with.
What the hell was taking him so long? She thought, slightly bitterly, as she leaned against the wall again. Her feet were starting to swell from the San Francisco heat and her cute little gladiator sandals were pinching, but maybe she was just being pessimistic. She had that feeling in her stomach again, a good feeling as she anticipated him opening the door and the look on his face when he saw her—until she felt her phone vibrate in her hand and start to play her ringtone. It made her scream and drop the device, looking down at it in shock before she remembered it was supposed to do that, and that was the entire point of her being crammed in Adam’s tiny closet.
”Don’t crap your pants on my account please,”
She said with a little smile, pulling her suitcase out and setting it on the floor before trying to wiggle her way out of the closet, something that would have worked better if her feet wouldn’t have been falling asleep. Wendy managed to fall over at the knees, landing softly on her butt at Adam’s feet, grinning up at him and pushing hair from her eyes. ”I’m falling for you,” She said dryly while trying to work her feet out from whatever was compressing them before managing to stand and grin at him. ”Hi! Surprised?” She giggled, leaning up to softly peck him on the lips before leaning on his chest. This was home. [/blockquote][/blockquote] Status: complete Words: 458 Muse: trip&wendy love. i've been lying wide awake, paralyzed by the buzzing of the television. "surprised?" adam asked her, with a surprised type of voice. "of course i'm surprised!" he wrapped his arms around wendy's shoulders, and held onto her tight. being away from school was great and all, but he sure did miss his girlfriend. but now, she was here, in his bedroom, in his arms. wendy was in his arms again! "what...how...who..." he tried to ask, but so many questions were flowing into his mind at once. "how did you get into my house?!" okay, so that wasn't really the first question that popped into his head, but at least he got one down. his parents must have been in on this, they had to have been. he was going to have to kill them, for keeping this from him. adam decided that he didn't want to let go of wendy just yet, and kept his arms wrapped around her. "i've missed you so much!"
finally, after what would seem like an hour to some, but barely seconds to adam, he let go of wendy. "this is so awesome!" he said with a huge goofy grin on his face. "you...we...i...there's so much to do!" he could take her bug hunting, they could play with his little sister together, he could take her to see the sights of san fran, they could be together, without anything to worry about. this was, by far, the best surprise adam could ever receive in his entire life. he glanced over at the aquarium sitting on his desk and grinned at his spider. "lady amalthea!" he said. "you're a terrible watch dog! you know girls aren't allowed in my room!" well, his little sister was an exception, but he didn't really like his mother coming into his bedroom. mostly because she'd go through his stuff and sort his videos games. she'd also try to make off with his insects and try getting rid of them. adam always knew though, he kept a list of all his bugs, so he always knew when something was missing. his mother couldn't figure out how he did it, and he would never tell.
adam wrapped his arms around wendy again, and planted a long, deep, and romantic kiss on her lips. even now, the way adam could kiss and please his girl surprised him. way back when, when he barely left his game counsel to eat something, he would have never guessed he'd be here now, with his lovely girl, kissing her on the lips. then adam's mind began to go off to perverted places, and he wondered if his parents would let wendy sleep with him in his bedroom. he figured that they probably would, because they always thought, that their son would be a virgin boy forever. destined to marry his pet spider. he himself actually believed that for a little while. but now, that was not the case!

your words still serenade me- - L I K E A C R O W C H A S I N G T H E B U T T E R F L Y- - your alibis won't let me sleep He might have had skinny arms, a skinny body, a skinny neck and weighed less than ten pounds more than her, but when Wendy was wrapped in those skinny arms, pressed against that skinny body and had her face buried in that skinny neck, she felt safe and happy. She couldn’t help but laugh softly at his manic ramblings. He was so excited she almost expected he’d need to change his pants, but she wasn’t about to say that..she was too happy just standing there, her arms wrapped around him. ”Your parents let me in,”
She said with a giggle, placing light kisses on his neck and arching her body to get as close to him as humanly possible. She could smell him, feel him, touch him—she had missed this. That short weekend that he had come back to visit her hadn’t been very much, and she had had to help him pack up...that was just depressing. ”I missed you too,” She wasn’t too impressed when he let go, if she had had her way they would have stayed in that spot all day. All week! As soon as he let go, she slid her hand down his arm and found his hand, hooking her fingers lightly with his. She’d really need to take her frickin’ shoes off soon. They hurt like a bitch. She tapped her foot on his floor to try and push the shoe around and move where it was cutting in, smiling softly. ”I really want to see the city,” She said with a smile, swinging his hand playfully. ”I’ve seen waaay too many movies to not want to see everywhere.” She added with a giggle, before watching him chastise the spider. She took this as the opportunity to bend over and unhook those fucking shoes, pulling them off and tossing them on her suitcase and wiggling her toes. She glanced back over at the spider. ”Psh, Lady A loves me. She damn near opened the door,” Wendy winked, before pulling her scarf and cardigan off. It was wayyy too fucking hot for that shit. ”And if girls aren’t allowed in your room...I could just go,” She made a step to walk towards the door before he kissed her. As she kissed back, Wendy let her body take over. She tangled her fingers in his hair, closed her eyes, arched her hips against his and sighed happily, flicking the roof of his mouth with her tongue. She had to admit, she had done a lot with Adam. In a few months, she had managed to shape him from a nerdy, lonely little single kid into the ideal boyfriend—she wondered if that made her a bad person. She hadn’t gone out of her way to find a guy like Adam, he had just been there, and he was everything she wanted. His innocence was a nice offset to hers, and as she broke the kiss she leaned her forehead against his and smiled softly. He was her Adam, and goddammit did she love him.
